IKEA's new fuel cell power generation system

According to foreign media reports, IKEA announced on March 16 that it had completed the installation of the fifth biogas fuel cell system in California and the entire United States in East Palo Alto, San Francisco Bay Area, California.

With the completion of the installation of the East Palo Alto fuel cell system, IKEA realized the independent power supply of the store through the combination of 1.5 MW fuel cell power generation and solar power generation.

This 300kW biogas powered fuel cell is slightly larger than the standby generator. It will generate about 2630452 kilowatt-hours of electricity for stores every year, reducing 1193 tons of carbon dioxide emissions, equivalent to 252 cars or 176 households' emissions in a year. With the 302 kilowatt solar cell array installed on the top of the store in 2011, the fuel cell project will generate electricity for most stores on site.

Bloom Energy signed a contract with IKEA to complete the design, development and installation of the fuel cell project.

IKEA East Palo Alto Store is located at the junction of US-101 and University Avenue, covering 10.5 acres. It opened in August 2003 and employs about 300 employees. In addition to 10000 * * designed products, IKEA East Palo Alto also offers 50 different room designs, three house interior designs, a children's playground and a 250-seat restaurant, serving Swedish specialties such as meatballs with cranberries and salmon, as well as American food. In addition, it also provides family projects such as children's IKEA area, baby care room, preferred parking places and recreation areas. The store installed rooftop solar array and three electric vehicle charging stations in 2011.
